I just completed another road trip, making that number 4* for the year. The route, this time, was from Chula Vista, California to Hood River, Oregon. Google says the most direct route for this trip is 1,088 miles…but we all know that’s not the way I like to travel. 😉 As such, Charlie and I turned this 18 hour drive into a five day camping trip!
This morning was…unusual.Read More »
I’ve spent a little time every morning this week trying to decide when I would leave town. Postponing my departure this far was easy, especially after Ian’s parents conned me into staying an extra day to hang out with Ian. (Trickery and arm twisting. Today was my last day on the ranch. Sandee spoiled me with farm fresh eggs, coffee, and great conversation this morning. While we had girl talk, Charlie was in the car where he was supposed to be eating his breakfast. Instead, he was chasing flies. Read More »
When we woke up this morning, our tent was the driest it has been since we started the trip. I cannot even explain what a big difference a dry tent makes in breaking down camp. It is so much nicer!Read More »
I woke up this morning while it was still dark. I must be getting good at this camping thing because it only took me 30 minutes to break down camp and pack up the car. Read More »
I woke up this morning around 0630. The air was chilly and crisp. Charlie was curled up in a ball, but unlike our night in Joshua Tree, he didn’t snuggle me. Or stay under his blanket. Water droplets were falling from the trees above me, sounding like a slow drizzle and making me want to stay in my sleeping bag. Read More »
